You paused, speaking of eyes,
but never grasped the emptiness within.
A blazing fire dwells there,
a desolate horizon bearing the wonder of eternity.
My gaze falters, caught in the walls of doubt.

Relentless time chases these eyes,
harrowing lies echo within the hollow chest,
worn, jaded, sleepless eyes,
These eyes must not see anyone,
Must touch no one
Not the golden allure of your skin,
Even not the soft, liquid form of water.

No one loves, yet love somehow blooms
a shattered whim of mine.
Silent resentment turns hours astray,
like rows of forsaken pines in winter,
wailing with the grief of nature.

In the dense forest of my eyes,
a jaguar’s chasing ensues
no haven of love can be built here.
The tide breaks against a body,
alone on love’s empty island.

No one is anywhere,
and in my eyes lingers only
the sorrow of a boundless horizon.
